Here&#8217;s the approximate formula: square of the focal length, divided by the product of the aperture value and the circle of confusion:<\/p>\n<p>$latex H\\approx\\frac{f^2}{Nc}$<\/p>\n<p>For our camera, that&#8217;s focal length squared, divided by f-number times 0.020. The answer comes out in millimeters.<\/p>\n<p>I applied this (roughly) for the Falcondale Lake pictures.
