Texture

Comments:

  • #1: Alignment of larger paint bit with the bottom left corner is better. Closer, so it’s a definite alignment.
  • #1 and #2: Would be better if all the corners and edges were in focus. For face-on, make sure it really is. Also depth of field.
  • #4: Precise positioning of the cross effect important.
  • #5: Steeper angles were more uncomfortable.
  • #5: Would be better with everything in focus.

Comments:

  • Exact choice of angle for the diagonals makes a difference. Steeper angles appeared more uncomfortable, or tense.
  • Try #2 with all the lines in focus, front-to-back.

Lenses for Lanscapes

This is a note to inform some practice that I’m planning.

Lens choice affects:

– Field of View
– Crop
– Perspective

Longer Lenses = More Compression. Objects look larger and closer together.

Wider Lenses = Less Compression. Objects look smaller and further apart.

The idea is to find a simple subject like a hut and a couple of trees, and practice.

Lenses to Take

For flexibility, let’s take the DX zooms:

10-24
18-55
55-300
